Located at a distance of about 12 km from the Udaipur City, this majestic lake was built by Maharana Raj Singh in 1648 AD to rectify the effects of calamitous famine. Its construction was completed in an amount of 6 Lacs rupees and was then named after Maharana’s mother, Jana Devi.

This artificial lake spans an area of 155 sq km and is confined in an embarkment of 180 m length and 18 m width. Decorated with 3 kiosks and enveloped by the glorious Aravalli hills, this lake offers a perpetual view of the blue waters and a sense of solace and peace to the visitors.
